Good News for July 8th

Jesus lived among us as a servant leader. He told his disciples: I came not to be served, but to serve. Do we live in imitation of Him in this way? Our parish is blessed with many disciples who are willing to wash feet (and pews) and we are all blessed by their goodness. As we move through this long season of Covid restrictions, how might God be asking you to serve others as a manifestation of your love for Jesus? Want to serve but not sure where? Why not be in contact with someone from our staff who could help find a place for you? We are in need of people to assist with our new “slide shows” that assist us at Mass, could that be an area of service for you? As we plan for the reality of a very different return to school, might you be willing to support parents with kids in some way (like helping with reading or homework over the phone or a video chat)? Want to make phone calls to our members who are still quarantined? There are lots of feet that need washing…

Our parish rejoices in Zoe being one with us at the Eucharistic Table and congratulate her mom and dad whose faith has led her to this gift of Holy Communion. Please pray for Zoe and all of our children who have received Holy Communion this year under very strange circumstances. May the Lord nourish them in generous ways. The parish is grateful to Donna Ackridge and Arleen Daniels for preparing our children. God be praised!

Praise God for our young disciples and their desire to know the Lord. Please share this VIDEO reflection from Father Chris with your children and grandchildren as they seek to create hearts that can best receive God’s Word. Be sure to download the handout for them as well…

Please join for for Holy Mass this Saturday at 5pm or Sunday at 8am or 10am. Want a smaller crowd? Join us for the 8am Monday thru Thursday or Saturday in the Church. Our RESTORE Team is committed to keeping you safe. If you feel ill or have any Covid symptoms, please stay home. While the “obligation” to attend Mass remains lifted, Father Chris wants the parish to be cautious about losing the habit of worship which can happen easily. If you are not yet ready to come to Church, be sure to still commit time to worshipping via a TV Mass or our Live Stream at 10am. Did you see the Sunday Bulletin? If you have questions about our precautions and practices, please contact Minta Brown.
