Happy Easter! Praise God for the Victory of Jesus over death that sets us free! Even though the physical Church was empty on Easter, we worshipped with almost a thousand people (twice what we would have on a “regular” Easter; and even more have worshipped with us virtually since then). If you were not able to join us, please do WATCH! The Word was proclaimed and preached and Kenny, once again, led us in amazing singing and praise! The parish is grateful to Deacon Bill, Richara, Kenny, Rasheem and the Proclaimer’s of God’s Word who make this weekly worship possible. The parish is also grateful to Veronica Corner and her son Brandon who assisted Father Chris in decorating our beautiful Church.
Guess what? He did come back in 3 days (and she was really happy)! Did you see our Church Bulletin? It remains an online publication and a great vehicle for keeping you updated. You can always access past bulletins on our Parish App. Please download the app to your device and then search for our parish (by our Zip Code).
While we all greatly enjoy the experience of worshipping thru Live Stream, we all miss gathering with one another and especially to receive Holy Communion. We hunger for Jesus and want to feast on his Body & Blood. After much conversation, the Parish Staff and I believe we have come up with a procedure that will allow our community to feast of the Body & Blood of Christ!
These are images of Rob and Lisa Barrimond (along with Amari and Imani) worshipping with us at home. Thankfully, Robs the “backend” of the Live Stream flowing each week. Can you send us a picture of your family worshipping (maybe with the Mass on the screen behind you)? Send the photo to Father Chris.
As we arrive at the middle of April, the financial hardships of these pandemic will begin to face many of our families. If you know someone in need of food, please contact Arleen. If someone is facing trouble paying their bills, please contact Deacon Bill.
Starting Wednesday, May 6th we will have Bible Study at 7pm. You can join via Live Stream (where we stream our Sunday Mass) or join a Zoom Group that will watching together and having a virtual conversation about the Bible Study (when we break for questions). If you would like to be part of a small group watching together (virtually or over the phone) please email Minta Brown. Father Chris would like to include a few “panelists” each week who will ask questions and assist in presenting the Bible Study. Interested? Contact Richara and let her know to include you!
Thank you for your continued generosity. Our offering for April 5th was $14,176 and for April 12th was $12,684. The Parish is grateful to those who made up the weeks they missed in the early weeks of quarantine! Our weekly average is now $9251 which keeps us on budget for the Fiscal Year. Praise God for the goodness of so many who mailed in or dropped off envelopes (there is a mail slot at the front door of the Parish Office) or have chosen to use our Electronic Giving option. Please consider supporting our work by making a Cash App offering to: $StRaymondPhilly; our Venmo account is: @St.Raymond-PenafortPhilly
Join us for this week’s St. Raymond LIVE. In addition to joining on Father Chris’s Facebook Page, you can now join via ZOOM. You will need to download the ZOOM app (it will help you) but you can see and hear the conversation (and make comments) without being on Facebook. This week’s topic is HOW TO HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN (AND HOW WE CAN ALL HELP PARENTS WHO ARE TRYING THEIR BEST. Join your Church Family from 7pm to 7:45pm.
