We are sorry that these emails have not been as frequent as in the past. We promise to be more faithful to sharing the Good News of our parish in a more timely manner.
October is the Month of the Most Holy Rosary. On October 11th after the 5pm Mass and on October 12th after the 10am Mass Fr. Chris will offer a 15 minute talk on the history of the Rosary and offer practical ways of making it a part of your regular life of prayer. Did you know they have a “app” for the Rosary?
Join us on Wednesday evenings for DISCIPLESHIP. We have a Men’s Group, Women’s Group and Prayer group from 6:30pm until 7:20pm and then Bible Study at 7:30pm (on the Gospel of Mark). Join us – no cost, there is food and childcare! Questions? Contact Fr. Chris or call 215-549-3760. When you walk with Jesus, you are never alone!
Join us on November 1st at the Downtown Sheraton for a day of faith, fellowship and learning at the Annual Catholic Life Congress. There will be AMAZING talks from nationally known speakers about our role in sharing the Gospel with our friend and neighbors. We will leave St Raymond at 8am and return by 4:30pm. God wants people saved – and needs our help! St. Raymond will be sending 10 people and we have room for YOU (but we need to know by October 21st)! Contact Arleen Daniels for information or to save your seat!
SAVE THE DATE! On Sunday, November 9th at 3pm we will honor St. Martin de Porres with a Celebration of Word, Music and Fellowship for the Black Catholic Community of Philadelphia and Friends. After much discussion among Pastors, the decision was made to move this celebration from the Cathedral to St. Ignatius of Loyola Church in West Philadelphia and have a Festival of Praise rather than a Mass (which we will have in our parishes that morning). This redesigned program and celebration promises to be one of great renewal as we honor our patron, advocate and friend – St. Martin de Porres. Mark your calendars…sign ups will begin shortly!
Want to spend a work in New Orleans? The Martin de Porres Foundation is offering scholarships (including airfare) to attend a week at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University. Space is limited; you must be active in ministries within the parish. Contact Deacon Bill if you are interested.
Did you miss last week’s Bulletin?
Will you please invite someone to join you this weekend at Mass? The Lord’s needs each of us to be His voice in drawing people to His Holy Mountain. Prepare for Mass too!
