August 6th News

Happy Feast of the Transfiguration!  As we recall this moment of glory in the life of our Lord Jesus, let us resolve to allow the glory of God to be revealed through us as well – in the way we speak, act and serve others in our family and in the world.

Did you miss the Bulletin last Sunday?  It lets you stay current on all of your St Raymond News!  You may also wish to view the Video from last week’s Mass (listen to the homily and music to continue nurturing your soul this week).  This past weekend we welcomed Kenny Arrington as our new Director of Music.  Kenny will be serving the Gospel Choir and Praise Choir.  He hopes to initiate a Children’s Choir as well in the months to come.  Please make every effort to welcome him and share your thoughts on music (the parish is grateful for feedback about the “volume” of music, we will continue to adjust).

The Annual Catholic Life Congress will be happening on Saturday, November 1st in Center City.  Our theme is A New Pentecost for a New Evangelization!  Our parish will sponsor 10 people (the cost is $55 but we have scholarships to cover the cost, thus please only reserve a place if you are sure you can attend). This day of faith formation promises to touch your mind and heart and allows you to experience the larger Church of Philadelphia!  Please contact Arleen Daniels if you would like to be part of our group.

Father Chris is seeking to build an Evangelization Team for our Parish.  Three of the seven needed slots are filled; could you be the next one to say YES?  There will be a two day training for the Team in September.  Send him an email if you want to join the team!

Will you make 15 minutes to Prepare for Sunday by spending time with God’s Word?  You know that God will never be outdone in generosity!  Your time with His Word will be blessed!

Do you want to join us for our Parish Trip to New York City’s new 9-11 Museum?

Next Friday, August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption, when we recall that moment in time when Mary assumed, body and soul, into heaven.  There will be Mass at St. Raymond at 8am ONLY.  If you need an evening Mass, please call a parish close to where you live or work.  May our desire for holiness guide us to follow Mary into glory!
