April 23rd News

Happy Easter – Alleluia!  Alleluia!  As a Church we celebrate Easter for 50 days (until Pentecost).  Continue wishing your friends and family a joyous Easter.  We have a long way to go until the power of the Risen Christ fills us all!

Praise God for a FULL Church on Easter.  We praise God that L&I did not make a surprise visit and see folks sitting in the lobby and in every aisle.  Alleluia indeed!  Let’s pray that we see such crowds every week for the glory of the Lord!  The parish remains grateful to all of our Liturgical Ministers (servers, ministers of communion, readers, musicians and singers) as well as our Greeters and those who decorated the Church (and keep things watered) for making all of our liturgies so wonderfully inspiring.  To God be the GLORY!

Did you attend Mass elsewhere on Easter?  Watch the Broadcast and read our Easter Bulletin to keep up with your Church family!

On Monday, April 28th at 7pm we will launch a new effort to form ourselves as Disciples of Jesus Christ.  It is a 7 week video based series called “Discover Christ”.  All are welcome to join us in giving feedback on the course before we “launch” it to the whole parish in the months to come.  Learn more in this VIDEO and please contact Michelle Downing if you are interested in joining us for the 7 weeks.  What do you have to lose (other than sin, resentment, anger and hopelessness)?  You can also sample the videos and gain more understanding at the Christ Life website (a Catholic ministry based in Baltimore. MD)

Want to grow in your understanding of the Bible as a Catholic Christian?  Did you know that there is a National Bible Conference and that it happens each year in our area?  On June 27 & 28 some of the nation’s best Catholic Bible scholars will be in Bucks County.  Our parish has a limited number of scholarships available (given on a first come, first serve basis).  Please contact Arleen Daniels ASAP (we get a discount if registered before this Friday).

On Sunday, April 27th at 3pm there will be a Choir Concert at Our Lady of Hope; tickets are $20 and proceeds will benefit youth ministries.  Please make an effort to support all of the Choirs (but especially St. Raymond Gospel Choir).

Speaking of our Gospel Choir, Mrs. Juanita Scipio, who was a strong presence in our parish and with the Choir, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday afternoon.  Juanita was a devout woman of great faith, who trusted in the Lord throughout her days.  At this writing, her funeral will be on Saturday Morning at St. Raymond (please call to confirm time).  May she rest in peace with the Lord she loved.

Do have a school age child who might be well served at our parish school.  Registration is happening in these weeks…some classes are already filled.  There is plenty of scholarship money available to those who qualify.  Visit our school website to learn more, the staff are willing to show you around and tell you more!  There is also a great way to support our school on Saturday, June 7th when we host a Broadway show review to benefit St Raymond School and Our Lady of Confidence School.  More information to come…

This Sunday is known as Divine Mercy Sunday (2nd Sunday of Easter).  Take a few minutes to learn more about this devotion which focuses on God’s desire to forgive us in Christ.  Prepare with the readings HERE.  This weekend will also see the Church declare two new saints in Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II (two men who lived in the lifetime of many of you…).  Read more about them on the US Bishop’s Website.
