Jim Sousa & Marines are Honored

Jim Sousa, a long time member of St Raymond Church, along with almost 400 other members of the Montfort Point Marines were given the Congressional Gold Medal on Thursday, June 28, 2012.  These men served with distinction and honor at a time when African American men were not freely welcomed into the Marine Corp.  Most of these men served in World War II and faced great discrimination as they served their nation.  While it has taken our country many years to recognize these men, we are glad the day has finally come!
